PERBANDINGAN PENGELUARAN ANAK KOST MAHASISWA DAN MAHASISWI PRODI STATISTIKA STAMBUK 2024 UNIVERSITAS NEGERI MEDAN

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan pengeluaran mahasiswa dan mahasiswi Program Studi Statistika angkatan 2024 Universitas Negeri Medan yang tinggal di kost. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 50 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik stratified sampling berdasarkan jenis kelamin dan kelas. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner berisi tujuh item pernyataan dengan reliabilitas sebesar 0,718. Uji normalitas menunjukkan data tidak berdistribusi normal, sehingga analisis dilakukan menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney U Test. Hasil analisis menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara pengeluaran mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan (p = 0,669), meskipun secara deskriptif terdapat kecenderungan perbedaan pada beberapa kategori pengeluaran. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa faktor jenis kelamin bukan merupakan faktor dominan yang memengaruhi pengeluaran mahasiswa kost, sehingga penelitian lanjutan disarankan untuk mempertimbangkan variabel lain guna memperoleh gambaran yang lebih komprehensif.

This study aims to compare the expenditure of male and female students of the Statistics Study Program, class of 2024, State University of Medan who live in boarding houses. The research sample consisted of 50 respondents selected using stratified sampling techniques based on gender and class. Data were collected through a questionnaire containing seven statement items with a reliability of 0.718. The normality test showed that the data was not normally distributed, so the analysis was carried out using the Mann-Whitney U Test. The results of the analysis showed that there was no significant difference between the expenditure of male and female students (p = 0.669), although descriptively there was a tendency for differences in several categories of expenditure. The conclusion of this study is that gender is not a dominant factor influencing the expenditure of boarding students, so further research is recommended to consider other variables in order to obtain a more comprehensive picture.
