PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PBL BERPENDEKATAN ETNOSAINS UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS DI SMP TAKHASSUS AL-QURAN AN-NIDA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berpendekatan etnosains dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi Hukum Newton. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas VIII di SMP Takhassus Al-Qur’an An-Nida, masing-masing berjumlah 30 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi tes uraian dan lembar observasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor posttest siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibanding kelas kontrol (79 > 61,5), dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000. Rata-rata N-Gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 57,8% (kategori cukup efektif), sedangkan kelas kontrol hanya 30,1%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model PBL berbasis etnosains efektif meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.
This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with an ethnoscience approach in improving students’ critical thinking skills on Newton’s Laws. A quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design was used. The subjects were two classes of eighth-grade students at SMP Takhassus Al-Qur’an An-Nida, each consisting of 30 students. The instruments included essay tests and observation sheets. Results showed that the experimental group’s posttest scores were higher than the control group’s (79 > 61.5), with a significance value of 0.000. The average N-Gain of the experimental class was 57.8% (moderately effective), while the control class only reached 30.1%. It can be concluded that the ethnoscience-based PBL model effectively improves students' critical thinking skills.
