PERANCANGAN BUKU ESAI PHOTOGRAFI PROSES BUDIDAYA RUMPUT LAUT DI DESA KOKARLIAN, SUMBAWA BARAT

Abstrak

Indonesia merupakan negara yang subur, kaya akan sumber daya alam, serta memiliki wilayah laut yang luas. Salah satu daerah yang memiliki potensi besar dalam pengembangan sumber daya laut adalah Desa Kokarlian, Kecamatan Poto Tano, Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Daerah ini sangat berpotensi untuk pengembangan budidaya rumput laut. Untuk menjaga serta memperkenalkan tradisi tersebut, dirancanglah sebuah buku esai photografi yang mendokumentasikan proses budidaya rumput laut. Tujuan pembuatan buku ini adalah untuk memperkenalkan metode budidaya kepada generasi muda dan masyarakat umum, sekaligus melestarikan praktik tersebut sebagai bagian dari kekayaan budaya lokal. Metode yang digunakan dalam perancangan buku ini adalah metode design thinking, dengan penekanan pada deskripsi menyeluruh tentang proses budidaya rumput laut. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi langsung, wawancara dengan narasumber, serta dokumentasi dari berbagai sumber daring. Proses perancangan dilakukan melalui lima tahap utama, yaitu: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, dan Test. Hasil yang diharapkan dari penelitian ini adalah terciptanya buku esai photografi yang menggambarkan setiap tahapan proses budidaya rumput laut secara jelas dan menarik. Buku ini diharapkan dapat menjadi media pembelajaran bagi generasi muda dan masyarakat umum untuk lebih mengenal, memahami, dan melestarikan budidaya rumput laut.

One of the areas that has great potential in the development of marine resources is Kokarlian Village, Poto Tano District, West Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. This area has great potential for the development of seaweed cultivation. To preserve and introduce this tradition, a photographic essay book was designed that documents the process of seaweed cultivation. The purpose of this book is to introduce cultivation methods to the younger generation and the general public, while preserving the practice as part of the local cultural richness. The method used in the design of this book is the design thinking method, with an emphasis on a thorough description of the seaweed cultivation process. Data collection was carried out through direct observation, interviews with resource persons, and documentation from various online sources. The design process is carried out through five main stages, namely: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. The expected result of this research is the creation of a photographic essay book that describes each stage of the seaweed cultivation process clearly and attractively. This book is expected to be a learning medium for the younger generation and the general public to better know, understand, and preserve seaweed cultivation.
