PERSEPSI MASYARAKAT PADA PEMANFAATAN WAYANG THENGUL SEBAGAI SARANA BUDAYA DAN REKREASI DI KAMPOENG WISATA THENGUL BOJONEGORO

Abstrak

Tourism plays a vital role in the economic development of a region and in preserving its cultural heritage. Indonesia, known for its rich cultural and natural diversity, holds great potential in the tourism industry. One of the destinations attracting tourists is Kampoeng Wisata Thengul in Bojonegoro, East Java, renowned for its cultural diversity and the traditional art of Wayang Thengul puppetry. However, Wayang Thengul has faced challenges in maintaining meaningful in modern society. This study explores how Wayang Thengul is utilized for cultural and recreational purposes in Kampoeng Wisata Thengul and the community's perception of it as part of local recreational and cultural activities. Through qualitative and observational methods, including field surveys and interviews with stakeholders, this research sheds light on the significance of Wayang Thengul in enriching the tourist experience and preserving cultural heritage. The findings underscore the importance of government support and youth involvement in sustaining and promoting Wayang Thengul as a valuable cultural heritage.
