MEMBANGUN GENERASI BERKARAKTER: IMPLEMENTASI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DI SULAWESI UTARA

Penelitian ini membahas implementasi pendidikan karakter di Sulawesi Utara, dengan fokus pada keberhasilan, tantangan, dan dampak terhadap siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, melibatkan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi di beberapa sekolah yang telah mengintegrasikan pendidikan karakter dalam kurikulum mereka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar sekolah telah mengadopsi pendekatan berbasis nilai lokal, seperti menghargai keragaman budaya dan menanamkan nilai-nilai kejujuran, disiplin, dan tanggung jawab. Dampak positif dari penerapan pendidikan karakter terlihat dalam peningkatan sikap dan perilaku siswa, meskipun tidak merata di semua sekolah. Keterlibatan orang tua dan masyarakat juga terbukti penting dalam mendukung pendidikan karakter. Disimpulkan bahwa meskipun terdapat kendala, pendidikan karakter di Sulawesi Utara menunjukkan hasil yang positif dan perlu ada upaya berkelanjutan untuk memperkuat program ini demi mencetak generasi yang berakhlak mulia dan siap menghadapi tantangan masa depan.
This study examines the implementation of character education in North Sulawesi, emphasizing its successes, challenges, and effects on students. Employing a qualitative approach through a case study method, the research incorporates interviews, observations, and documentation from several schools that have integrated character education into their curricula. The findings reveal that the majority of schools have embraced a local value-based approach, which includes appreciating cultural diversity and instilling values such as honesty, discipline, and responsibility. The positive effects of character education are evident in the enhancement of students' attitudes and behaviors, although these improvements are not uniformly observed across all institutions. The engagement of parents and the community has also proven crucial in supporting character education initiatives. In conclusion, despite existing challenges, character education in North Sulawesi has yielded positive outcomes, necessitating continued efforts to strengthen this program to cultivate a generation of individuals with noble character, prepared to confront future challenges.
