Abstrak

This study aims to analyze the use of visual learning media in the form of instructional videos to improve students’ learning interest in science, specifically on the topic of magnetism, among fifth-grade students at SDN Banuajuh III. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method with pre-test and post-test designs using a Likert scale questionnaire (1–4), supported by teacher interviews to strengthen the interpretation of findings. The results show a significant increase in students’ learning interest after the implementation of visual media. The average pre-test score was 58 (low category), which increased to 82 (high category) in the post-test. The N-Gain score of 0.57 indicates a moderate improvement level. Teacher interview data confirmed that visual media enhanced students’ focus, motivation, and understanding of abstract scientific concepts, especially magnetic properties and phenomena. Overall, the findings demonstrate that visual video media is effective in increasing students’ interest and engagement in learning science at the elementary school level.
