PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT DALAM PEMANFAATAN LIMBAH PLASTIK JERIGEN BEKAS MENJADI TAS UNIK

Abstrak

Pemahnfaatan limbah plastik berupa jerigen bekas merupakan salah satu bentuk implementasi lingkungan hidup (PLH) yang menekankan pada kepedulian terhadap lingkungan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pembuatan tas dari jerigen bekas serta menganalisis manfaatnya bagi lingkungan dan ekonomi masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan dalam artikel ini adalah metode praktik lansung dan observasi terhadap proses pengolahan jerigen bekas menjadi tas. Hasil kegiatan menumnjukan bahwa jerigen bekas dapat diolah menjadi produk fungsional dan estetis yang bernilai guna, sekaligus berkontribusi dalam mengurangi volume sampah plastik. Kegiatan ini juga berpotensi menjadi sarana edukasi lingkungan dan peluang usaha berbasis daur ulang. Dengan demikian, pemanfaatan jerigen bekas sebagai tas m,endukung upaya pelestarian lingkungan  secara berkelanjutan.

The utilization of plastic waste in the form of used jerry cans is one form of environmental management implementation that emphasizes environmental awareness and community empowerment. This article aims to describe the process of making bags from used jerry cans and analyze its benefits for the environment and the community's economy. The method used in this article is hands-on practice and observation of the process of converting used jerry cans into bags. The results of this activity indicate that used jerry cans can be processed into functional and aesthetically valuable products, while also contributing to reducing the volume of plastic waste. This activity also has the potential to become a means of environmental education and a recycling-based business opportunity. Thus, the use of used jerry cans as bags supports sustainable environmental conservation efforts.
