EFEKTIVITAS PENDEKATAN HOLISTIK DALAM PENGEMBANGAN SOSIAL DAN EMOSIONAL ANAK BERKEBUTUHAN KHUSUS PADA SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstrak

Pendekatan holistik adalah pendekatan yang melihat individu sebagai kesatuan yang utuh, memperhatikan semua aspek kehidupan yang saling berkaitan dan mempengaruhi satu sama lain. Dalam konteks pendidikan sekolah dasar, pendekatan ini tidak hanya berfokus pada aspek akademis saja, tetapi juga pada perkembangan fisik, emosional, sosial, dan spiritual siswa. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas pendekatan holistik dalam pengembangan sosial dan emosional anak berkebutuhan khusus di tingkat sekolah dasar. Pendekatan holistik diterapkan dengan mengintegrasikan aspek-aspek kognitif, emosional, sosial, dan fisik dalam proses pembelajaran dan intervensi pendidikan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui studi literatur. Data dikumpulkan dari berbagai sumber literatur yang relevan untuk mengeksplorasi praktik terbaik dan bukti-bukti yang mendukung efektivitas pendekatan holistik dalam konteks anak berkebutuhan khusus. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan holistik efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan sosial dan emosional anak berkebutuhan khusus. Integrasi yang komprehensif terhadap berbagai aspek perkembangan memungkinkan adanya pendekatan yang personal dan terfokus sesuai dengan kebutuhan individu setiap anak. Dalam konteks sekolah dasar, pendekatan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan kesiapan akademis, tetapi juga membantu anak-anak untuk berinteraksi secara lebih efektif dengan lingkungan sekitar dan membangun kemandirian dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

A holistic approach is an approach that sees individuals as a unified whole, paying attention to all aspects of life that are interrelated and influence each other. In the context of elementary school education, this approach does not only focus on academic aspects, but also on students' physical, emotional, social and spiritual development. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a holistic approach in the social and emotional development of children with special needs at the elementary school level. A holistic approach is applied by integrating cognitive, emotional, social and physical aspects in the learning process and educational interventions. The research method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through literature study. Data was collected from various relevant literature sources to explore best practice and evidence supporting the effectiveness of a holistic approach in the context of children with special needs. The results of the analysis show that the holistic approach is effective in improving the social and emotional skills of children with special needs. Comprehensive integration of various aspects of development allows for a personalized and focused approach according to the individual needs of each child. In the elementary school context, this approach not only improves academic readiness, but also helps children to interact more effectively with their surroundings and build independence in everyday life.
