Kebijakan dan implementasi Twitter dalam menangani isu politik dan ujaran kebencian selama Pemilu 2024 di Indonesia menjadi penting untuk menjaga demokrasi yang sehat. Penelitian menunjukkan lonjakan ujaran kebencian di media sosial, mencapai 51,2% dari total pelanggaran yang terdeteksi. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, KPU dan Kominfo bekerja sama memantau serta mengurangi penyebaran hoaks dan ujaran kebencian dengan regulasi ketat. Prinsip Good Governance diterapkan untuk menjaga transparansi dan akuntabilitas, serta meningkatkan literasi digital masyarakat. Meskipun media sosial dapat memperluas partisipasi politik, ia juga berpotensi memperburuk polarisasi yang mengganggu stabilitas politik. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk mendorong dialog konstruktif di platform media sosial. Dalam konteks Pemilu 2024, pasangan calon nomor urut 02 perlu mengimplementasikan strategi komunikasi yang bijak, meningkatkan kesadaran etika berkomunikasi, serta memantau konten negatif. Mereka juga harus menekankan pesan positif, mendorong dialog terbuka, dan menunjukkan komitmen terhadap keberagaman untuk menjaga citra positif mereka.
The policies and implementation of Twitter in addressing political issues and hate speech during the 2024 Indonesian Presidential Election are crucial for maintaining a healthy democracy. Research shows a significant increase in hate speech on social media, accounting for 51.2% of total violations detected. To address this, the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) have collaborated to monitor and reduce the spread of hoaxes and hate speech through stricter regulations. The principles of Good Governance are applied to ensure transparency and accountability, as well as to enhance digital literacy among the public. While social media can expand political participation, it also has the potential to worsen polarization, disrupting political stability. Therefore, fostering constructive dialogue on these platforms is essential. In the context of the 2024 election, the candidate pair number 02 needs to implement effective communication strategies, raise awareness about communication ethics, and monitor negative content. They should also emphasize positive messages, promote open dialogue, and show commitment to diversity to maintain a positive public image.
