This research aims to improve the ability of 3-4 year old children in recognizing and reading Hijaiyah letters using the Tilawati method combined with Hijaiyah letter cards. At KB As-Syuhada’ Pamekasan, many children still struggle to identify and pronounce Hijaiyah letters correctly, which impacts their future ability to read the Al-Qur'an. The Tilawati method focuses on systematic and enjoyable learning, emphasizing direct reading, classical listening, and structured variations. To support this method, Hijaiyah letter cards are introduced as visual media to enhance engagement and understanding among the children. This research employs a classroom action research approach with two cycles, involving planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques include observation and reading tests. The results showed a significant improvement in the children's reading ability. In the pre-cycle stage, only 20% of children recognized and read the letters. After the first cycle, this number increased to 53.3%, and after the second cycle, 86.7% of children successfully recognized and read the Hijaiyah letters. This study concludes that the use of the Tilawati method along with Hijaiyah letter cards effectively enhances the recognition and reading of Hijaiyah letters by children. This approach not only improves academic understanding but also develops motivation and engagement. Future research could explore the integration of digital media and extend the duration of interventions to achieve more sustainable learning outcomes.
