Abstrak

Citrus plants (Citrus hystrix DC) and limes (Citrus aurantifolia (chritsm.) Swingle), Rutaceae family are plants with a source of polyfhenols contained in its leaves. This research aimed to conduct a comparative study of the total phenolic content of the ethanol extract of the citrus leaves (Citrus hystrix DC) and acid lime leaves (Citrus aurantifolia (christm.) Swingle) using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The ethanol extract of the citrus leaves and acid lime leaves was obtained by maceration method with ethanol. The qualitative analysis used FeCl3 shaping blackish green complex. The determination of total phenolic content of ethanol extract of citrus leaves and acid lime leaves based on Folin Ciocalteau method. Total phenolic content was expressed in GAE (Gallic acid equivalent), the absorbance was measured at a wavelength of 750 nm. The result showed that total phenolic content in the ethanol extract of citrus leaves and acid lime leaves was 27, 38 mg GAE/g extract with percentage of 2,738 % (w/w) and 17,98 mg GAE/g extract with the percentage of 1,798 % (w/w).
