Global health faces complex threats from zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and food safety issues, underscoring the close interlinkage between human, animal, and environmental health. This analysis indicates that Veterinary Public Health (VPH) plays a central role in several key aspects of One Health, including the surveillance and control of zoonotic diseases, ensuring the safety of food of animal origin, monitoring antimicrobial resistance, and promoting animal welfare and environmental health. The One Health approach serves as a collaborative and effective strategy to address these challenges holistically. Veterinary Public Health (VPH) plays a fundamental role as the frontline in One Health implementation. This literature review aims to analyze and synthesize scientific evidence regarding the strategic role of VPH in zoonosis control, AMR management, and food safety assurance in Indonesia within the One Health framework. This review, through the analysis of secondary data, official reports, and scientific publications, demonstrates that strengthening the role of Veterinary Public Health, through surveillance, vaccination, and education, is key to enhancing national and global health resilience.
