Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi metode Montessori dalam menstimulasi kemampuan sensorik anak usia 4-6 tahun di TK X. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, di mana data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam dengan kepala sekolah, serta dokumentasi administrasi sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan pembelajaran dilakukan secara terstruktur dan kolaboratif, dengan pembagian kurikulum menjadi tiga term per semester serta integrasi berbagai aspek perkembangan anak, seperti motorik kasar, seni, musik, bahasa, sensorik, dan matematika. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran menekankan kebebasan eksplorasi anak dengan pengawasan terarah, penggunaan alat peraga Montessori yang menstimulasi delapan indra (penglihatan, pendengaran, penciuman, perasa, peraba, proprioseptif, interoseptif, dan vestibular), serta pembiasaan aktivitas practical life untuk membangun kemandirian dan konsentrasi. Penilaian perkembangan sensorik dilakukan secara sistematis menggunakan portofolio dan konsultasi harian antara guru dan orang tua. Hasil penelitian menegaskan bahwa metode Montessori efektif dalam menstimulasi kemampuan sensorik anak secara holistik, meningkatkan kemandirian, konsentrasi, serta kesiapan anak menghadapi jenjang pendidikan berikutnya. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan peningkatan kompetensi guru dan kolaborasi yang lebih erat antara sekolah dan orang tua guna mendukung perkembangan sensorik anak secara optimal.

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Montessori method in stimulating the sensory abilities of children aged 4-6 years at TK X. The research employed a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, in which data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with the principal, and documentation of school administration. The results show that learning planning is conducted in a structured and collaborative manner, with the curriculum divided into three terms per semester and the integration of various aspects of child development, such as gross motor skills, art, music, language, sensory, and mathematics. The learning implementation emphasizes children's freedom to explore under guided supervision, the use of Montessori teaching aids that stimulate eight senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, proprioceptive, interoceptive, and vestibular), as well as the habituation of practical life activities to foster independence and concentration. Sensory development assessment is carried out systematically using portfolios and daily consultations between teachers and parents. The study confirms that the Montessori method is effective in holistically stimulating children's sensory abilities, increasing independence, concentration, and readiness for the next educational level. This research recommends enhancing teacher competence and closer collaboration between schools and parents to optimally support children's sensory development.
