Ultrasonic sensor-based water wave height measuring device is a device designed to measure wave height without direct interaction with water. The ultrasonic sensor used is the JSN-SR04T type because it has high sensitivity to distance variations, economical price, ease of maintenance, and availability of spare parts in the local market. This sensor is also equipped with Internet of Things (IoT) technology based on the ESP32 microcontroller, which allows measurement results to be sent and accessed in real-time via the internet network. The results of the water wave height measurement using the sensor showed that the maximum wave height detected was 3.69 cm, while the minimum wave was recorded at 2.14 cm with an average of 3.0660. Meanwhile, in the manual measurement, the maximum wave height reached 3.6 cm and the minimum was 2.2 cm with an average of 2.9625cm. After analysis, the final results show that this tool has an accuracy rate of 99.96%. The standard deviation value obtained from the sensor results is 0.345035, while the manual measurement is 0.345151. Thus, this tool is proven to be effective, reliable, and feasible to use as a modern solution in the Internet of Things (IoT)-based seawater wave height monitoring system.
