GAYA KEPEMIMPINAN TRANSFORMASIONAL DAN PARTISIPATIF KEPALA SEKOLAH DI SD KEMALA BHAYANGKARI 1 MEDAN

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gaya kepemimpinan yang diterapkan oleh Ibu Dra. Supriana, M.Pd., selaku Kepala Sekolah SD Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Medan, serta dampaknya terhadap peningkatan kualitas pendidikan di sekolah tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa Ibu Dra. Supriana, M.Pd. menerapkan prinsip-prinsip kepemimpinan yang efektif, meliputi kompetensi kepemimpinan, kompetensi sosial, dan kompetensi kepribadian yang baik. Beliau menekankan pentingnya keseimbangan antara penerapan aturan formal dengan kebutuhan nyata di lapangan, serta menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang nyaman dan menyenangkan bagi peserta didik. Dalam membangun budaya kerja sama, beliau mengadakan rapat kerja dengan guru-guru pada awal tahun untuk menyampaikan visi, misi, serta mensosialisasikan program kerja dan kebijakan dinas pendidikan. Melalui gaya kepemimpinannya, SD Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Medan berhasil meraih berbagai prestasi, seperti Juara 1 Penilaian Sekolah Tingkat Pusat dan Juara 1 Pantomim pada Festival Lomba Seni Siswa Nasional (FLS2N) tingkat Provinsi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan yang berkarakter, komunikatif, dan visioner berperan penting dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan dan dapat menjadi contoh bagi sekolah lain dalam menciptakan generasi yang cerdas, berakhlak mulia, serta mampu bersaing di era global.
This study aims to describe the leadership style applied by Mrs. Dra. Supriana, M.Pd., as the Principal of Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Elementary School, Medan, and its impact on improving the quality of education at the school. Based on the results of the study, it is known that Mrs. Dra. Supriana, M.Pd. applies the principles of effective leadership, including leadership competencies, social competencies, and good personality competencies. She emphasizes the importance of balancing the implementation of formal rules with real needs in the field, as well as creating a comfortable and enjoyable learning environment for students. In building a culture of cooperation, she holds a working meeting with teachers at the beginning of the year to convey the vision, mission, and socialize the work programs and policies of the education office. Through her leadership style, Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Elementary School, Medan, has succeeded in achieving various achievements, such as 1st Place in the Central School Assessment and 1st Place in Pantomime at the National Student Arts Competition Festival (FLS2N) at the Provincial level. The results of this study indicate that character-based, communicative, and visionary leadership plays a crucial role in improving educational quality and can serve as an example for other schools in developing a generation that is intelligent, virtuous, and able to compete in the global era.
