SOSIALISASI TENTANG PENTINGNYA PENDIDIKAN BAGI GENERASI MUDA DI DESA IDALOLONG KECAMATAN NAGAWUTUNG KABUPATEN LEMBATA

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses dan dampak kegiatan sosialisasi mengenai pentingnya pendidikan bagi generasi muda di Desa Idalolong, Kecamatan Nagawutung, Kabupaten Lembata. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan partisipatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung, wawancara, serta diskusi kelompok bersama pemuda, orang tua, tokoh masyarakat, dan aparat desa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan sosialisasi berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran peserta mengenai peran strategis pendidikan, bukan hanya sebagai sarana memperoleh pekerjaan, tetapi juga sebagai fondasi pembangunan desa. Namun, ditemukan berbagai tantangan seperti keterbatasan ekonomi, hambatan geografis, serta pandangan budaya yang lebih mengutamakan pekerjaan jangka pendek dibandingkan pendidikan. Meski demikian, sosialisasi memunculkan inisiatif positif seperti gagasan pembentukan kelompok belajar dan meningkatnya dukungan orang tua terhadap pendidikan anak. Secara keseluruhan, pendidikan di Desa Idalolong mulai dipahami sebagai investasi kolektif masa depan yang memerlukan dukungan struktural, kultural, dan kolaboratif agar dapat terwujud secara berkelanjutan.

This study aims to describe the process and impact of socialization activities regarding the importance of education for young people in Idalolong Village, Nagawutung District, Lembata Regency. Using a descriptive qualitative method with a participatory approach, data were collected through direct observation, interviews, and group discussions with youth, parents, community leaders, and village officials. The results show that socialization activities successfully increased awareness among participants about the strategic role of education, not only as a means of employment but also as a foundation for community development. However, various challenges were identified, such as economic limitations, geographical barriers, and cultural perceptions that prioritize short-term work over long-term education. Despite these obstacles, the socialization generated positive initiatives, such as proposals to establish study groups and greater parental support for children’s education. Overall, education in Idalolong Village is beginning to be perceived as a collective investment for the future, requiring structural, cultural, and collaborative support to be realized sustainably.
