Abstrak

Hematology and blood chemistry examinations are examination parameters that are often requested as initial screening for the diagnosis of a disease. One of the blood chemistry parameters in diagnosing kidney function is urea. Serum is more widely used in urea examination, however there are often difficulties in taking blood so that the blood volume is insufficient. Therefore, EDTA plasma samples are used for urea examination. This research was conducted to find out whether there were differences in the results of analysis of ureum levels in samples using serum and plasma K2 EDTA at RSUD Banten. This research is a cross-sectional study conducted on 200 K2 EDTA serum and plasma K2 EDTA samples in the period 1 October 2023 to 30 June 2024. All samples were measure for ureum levels using different samples, then the data obtained from the ureum analysis results were processed through a statistics test to see the average difference in urea levels for each sample. Through statistical tests, a significance value of 0.266 (> 0.05) was obtained, so it can be concluded that there is no difference in ureum levels in K2EDTA serum and plasma samples.
