AGAINST THE FUNGI Malassezia fusfur
Some herbal plants that can be used to inhibit the growth of fungi that cause dandruff include celery which contains flavonoid and saponin compounds as antifungals. This research method is experimental, namely to determine the effectiveness of anti-dandruff shampoo preparations from celery extract (Apium graveolens L.) on the activity of Malassezia fusfur fungi that cause dandruff and to find a formula that is good and physically stable and also effective for use as an anti-dandruff. This research uses control (-), control (+), F1 (10%), F2 (20%), and F3 (30%).The results of the study of anti-dandruff shampoo preparations from lime juice from three concentration variations showed that the organoleptic test of the anti-dandruff shampoo preparations with celery extract was brown in color, in the form of a thick liquid, slightly foamy and had a distinctive aroma of Celery Extract. The inhibitory power produced by F1 was 33,38 mm, F2 was 34,95 mm, and F3 was 43,46 mm. The concentration of celery extract that has the strongest inhibitory activity against the growth of Malassezia fusfur fungus is 43,46 mm produced by Formula III with a concentration of 30%.
