PERAN GURU PPKn DALAM MENCEGAH VERBAL BULLYING DENGAN MENANAMKAN NILAI EMPATI DI KELAS VIII F SMP NEGERI 7 SAMARINDA

Abstrak

Tujuan Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan nilai empati yang dilakukan oleh guru PPKn dalam proses pembelajaran, serta bagaimana nilai empati tersebut dapat mencegah terjadinya perilaku bullying di kalangana siswa kelas VIII F SMP Negeri 7 Samarinda. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan mendeskripsikan strategi guru dalam menanamkan empati dan menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mendukung maupun menghambat proses tersebut. Jenis penelitian ini deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan di SMP Negeri 7 Samarinda pada bulan Maret hingga Mei 2025. Subjek penelitian ini ialah Guru PKn dan Guru BK sebagai informan dan siswa/i kelas VIII F sebgai responden dengan menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa guru PPKn menerapkan nilai empati melalui strategi pembelajaran seperti pementasan drama, diskusi kelompok, dan kesepakatan kelas. Pendekatan yang digunakan bersifat partisipatif, reflektif, dan menyentuh aspek afektif siswa. Nilai empati yang ditanamkan berhasil membentuk sikap peduli dan saling menghargai, serta menciptakan suasana kelas yang lebih aman dan kondusif. Faktor pendukung keberhasilan meliputi kolaborasi dengan guru BK dan antusiasime siswa, sementara hambatannya berasal dari pengaruh media sosial dan lingkungan keluarga.

The purpose of this research is to determine how the values of empathy are applied by PPKn teachers in the learning process, and how these values of empathy can prevent bullying behavior among eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 7 Samarinda. This research also aims to describe the strategies used by teachers to instill empathy and to analyze the factors that support and hinder this process. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 7 Samarinda from March to May 2025. The subjects of this research are the PKn teachers and BK teachers as informants, and the students of class VIII F as respondents using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The results of this study indicate that civics education teachers apply the value of empathy through learning strategies such as drama performances, group discussions, and class agreements. The approach used is participatory, reflective, and touches upon the affective aspects of students. The value of empathy instilled successfully shapes a caring and respectful attitude, as well as creates a safer and more conducive classroom atmosphere. Supporting factors for success include collaboration with guidance counselors and student enthusiasm, while obstacles stem from the influence of social media and family environment.
