Abstrak

Mangrove Rhizophora mucronata merupakan sumber daya alam yang kaya akan antioksidan alami. Potensi daun mangrove sebagai bahan baku teh herbal terbilang cukup menjanjikan disamping mudah diperoleh tanaman mangrove mengandung antoksidan yang bermanfaat bagi tubuh manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komponen kimiawi dan aktivitas antioksidan teh herbal daun mangrove Rhizophora mucronata yang terdapat di Perairan Desa Bama, Kecamatan Demon Pagong, Kabupaten Flores Timur. Mangrove Rhizophora mucronata yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dikeringkan menggunakan suhu matahari (23-32 ℃) selama 1 minggu. Daun Rhizophora mucronata diekstraksi menggunakan air panas, metode yang umum digunakan dalam pembuatan teh herbal. Daun mangrove kering diseduh dengan air panas suhu (90 ℃) dan dibiarkan selama 60 menit. Hasil seduhan disaring untuk memisahkan residu simplisia dari filtrat. Filtrat yang diperoleh kemudian di freeze dry hingga menghasilkan pasta ekstrak kasar dan dianalisis total fenol dan aktivitas antioksidan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun mangrove Rhizophora mucronata memiliki total fenol 569.16 ppm, aktivitas antioksidan 72,5 mg/ml dan standar asam askorbat yaitu 0,005.

Rhizophora mucronata mangrove is a natural resource rich in natural antioxidants. The potential of mangrove leaves as a raw material for herbal tea is quite promising, not only because they are easy to obtain, but also because mangrove plants contain antioxidants that are beneficial for the human body. This study aims to determine the chemical components and antioxidant activity of herbal tea made from Rhizophora mucronata mangrove leaves found in the waters of Bama Village, Demon Pagong Subdistrict, East Flores Regency. The Rhizophora mucronata mangrove used in this research was dried using sunlight (23–32 ℃) for one week. The leaves were extracted using hot water, a method commonly used in herbal tea preparation. The dried mangrove leaves were steeped in hot water at 90 ℃ and left for 60 minutes. The infusion was then filtered to separate the simplicia residue from the filtrate. The obtained filtrate was freeze-dried to produce a crude extract paste, which was then analyzed for total phenol content and antioxidant activity. The results showed that the extract of Rhizophora mucronata mangrove leaves contained 569.16 ppm of total phenols, and antioxidant activity of 72.5 mg/ml, and a reference value for ascorbic acid of 0.005 mg/ml.
