HEDONISITAS SEDIAAN BLUSH ON STICK EKSTRAKSI KAYU SECANG (Caesalpinia sappan Linn.) SEBAGAI PEWARNA ALAMI

Abstrak

Blush is one of the decorative cosmetics that is widely used to give the cheeks a red color with an artistic touch. The available blush on is available in various types of colors which increase the attractiveness of the product. Secang wood (Caesalpinia sappan Linn.) is a natural material that contains compounds in the form of brazilin and flavonoids which can give it a red color. This research uses an experimental method equipped with a descriptive approach and questionnaires. The formulation of the blush on stick preparation uses the extraction results using the infusion method which is carried out at three concentration variations, namely 6%, 8% and 10% as well as a control formula (F0) without dye. Physical quality testing of blush preparations included organoleptic tests, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, stickiness and irritation as well as hedonic tests on 30 panelists. Anthocyanin levels were tested using the UV-Vis Spectrophotometry method. Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS with One Way ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis tests. Research shows that the anthocyanin levels resulting from secang wood extraction are relatively low. All test formulas have good physical quality and meet the requirements and Formula F3 with a concentration of 10% gets the highest average hedonic score. Thus, F3 was declared the best formula.

Blush on atau perona pipi merupakan salah satu kosmetik dekoratif yang banyak digunakan untuk memberikan warna merah pada pipi dengan sentuhan artistic. Blush on yang beredar tersedia dalam berbagai jenis warna yang memberikan peningkatan terhadap daya tarik produk. Kayu secang (Caesalpinia sappan Linn.) merupakan salah satu bahan alami yang memiliki kandungan senyawa berupa brazilin serta flavonoid yang dapat memberikan warna merah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental yang dilengkapi dengan pendekatan deskriptif dan kuisioner. Formulasi sediaan blush on stick menggunakan hasil ekstraksi dengan metode infusa yang dilakukan pada tiga variasi konsentrasi yaitu 6%, 8% dan 10% serta satu formula kontrol (F0) tanpa pewarna. Pengujian mutu fisik sediaan blush on meliputi uji organoleptis, homogenitas, pH, daya sebar, daya lekat dan iritasi serta dilakukan uji hedonis terhadap 30 panelis. Kadar antosianin diuji menggunakan metode Spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Data dianalisis menggunakan Microsoft Excel serta SPSS dengan uji One Way ANOVA serta Kruskal-Wallis. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar antosianin hasil ekstraksi kayu secang tergolong rendah. Seluruh formula uji memiliki mutu fisik yang baik dan telah memenuhi persyaratan serta Formula F3 dengan konsentrasi 10% mendapatkan skor rata-rata hedonis tertinggi. Sehingga, F3 dinyatakan sebagai formula terbaik.
