Abstrak

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is an infectious disease caused by the dengue virus. Dengue virus infection begins when the vector takes the host's blood and enters the endocytosis process such as dendritic cells and involves helper T lymphocytes, cytotoxic T, macrophages, monocytes, cytokines and complement activation. These inflammatory mediators cause thrombocytopenia. C-reactive protein is an acute phase protein, including a group of proteins whose blood levels increase. The aim of this study was to determine c-reactive protein levels and platelet counts in dengue hemorrhagic fever patients. Observational research design with a cross sectional research design. This research was conducted at the Banten District Hospital with a population of all dengue fever patients, 60 respondents. The results of the Spearman correlation test showed a p value = 0.263>0.05, so it can be concluded that there is no relationship between C-reactive protein levels and platelet counts in dengue hemorrhagic fever sufferers.
