ANTUSIASME VOLUNTEER DALAM KETERLIBATAN AKTIVITAS SOSIAL

(Studi Kasus Komunitas Gembira Seharian)

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami antusiasme volunteer dalam keterlibatan aktivitas sosial pada Komunitas Gembira Seharian. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tingginya partisipasi volunteer yang tetap konsisten mengikuti kegiatan sosial meskipun terdapat kewajiban kontribusi finansial sebagai syarat keikutsertaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus dan paradigma konstruktivisme. Teori yang digunakan adalah Teori Interaksi Simbolik George Herbert Mead melalui konsep mind, self, dan society. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa volunteer memaknai antusiasme sebagai rasa senang, semangat, kepedulian, dan kebahagiaan dalam aktivitas sosial. Pengalaman mengikuti kegiatan memberikan pembelajaran hidup, meningkatkan empati, rasa syukur, kepercayaan diri, kemampuan berkomunikasi, serta memperluas relasi sosial. Antusiasme volunteer didorong oleh motivasi untuk membantu sesama, memperoleh pengalaman baru, mengembangkan diri, dan menjadi bagian dari komunitas yang hangat. Temuan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa mind tercermin pada proses volunteer memaknai pengalaman sosial, self pada pembentukan konsep diri melalui pengalaman dan interaksi, serta society pada terciptanya rasa memiliki, kebersamaan, dan hubungan sosial dalam komunitas. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memperkaya kajian komunikasi intrapersonal, komunikasi organisasi, dan komunikasi sosial mengenai volunteer dalam aktivitas sosial berbasis komunitas.

This study aims to understand volunteer enthusiasm in social activity involvement within the Gembira Seharian Community. The research is motivated by the high level of volunteer participation despite the requirement to make a financial contribution as a condition of participation. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study method within a constructivist paradigm. The theoretical framework was George Herbert Mead's Symbolic Interaction Theory, focusing on the concepts of mind, self, and society. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that volunteers interpret enthusiasm as feelings of happiness, excitement, care, and joy in participating in social activities. Their experiences provide meaningful life lessons, foster empathy and gratitude, strengthen self-confidence and communication skills, and expand social relationships. Volunteer enthusiasm is driven by the desire to help others, gain new experiences, develop personal potential, and become part of a warm and supportive community. The findings further indicate that the concept of mind is reflected in volunteers' interpretation of their social experiences, self in the development of self-concept through experience and interaction, and society in the emergence of a sense of belonging, togetherness, and social relationships within the community. This study contributes to the development of intrapersonal, organizational, and social communication studies related to volunteerism in community-based social activities.
