PEMBENARAN OLEH IMAN (SUATU TINJAUAN DOGMATIKA TENTANG KETERKAITAN PEMBENARAN OLEH IMAN DENGAN PERBUATAN BAIK DAN IMPLIKASINYA DIJEMAAT GBKP RUNGGUN SUKATENDEL)

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menegaskan bahwa pembeneran bukan oleh perbuatan baik melainkan oleh iman, serta implikasinya bagi jemaat GBKP Runggun Sukatendel. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dan kuantatif hasilnya ditemukan pemahaman jemaat bahwa pembenaran oleh perbuatan baik. Secara teologis dan dogmatis, penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa pembenaran manusia terjadi hanya oleh iman berdasarkan karya penebusan Yesus Kristus, sedangkan perbuatan baik merupakan buah atau respons dari iman yang hidup, bukan syarat keselamatan sesuai kesaksian Kitab Suci yang terdapat dalam Yohanes 15:16, Titus 2:13-14, Matius 5:16. Maka disarankan bagi gereja untuk mengajarkan bahwa perbuatan baik merupakan tanda pembenaran.

This study aims to examine the relationship between justification by faith and good works, and its implications for the GBKP Runggun Sukatendel congregation. The method used was a survey using a questionnaire and interviews with the GBKP Sukatendel congregation, using a theological dogmatic approach. The results indicate that some members still understand that good works play a role in human justification before God. Theologically and dogmatically, this study confirms that human justification occurs only by faith based on the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, while good works are the fruit or response of living faith, not a requirement for salvation. Therefore, the church needs to improve teaching and faith formation so that the congregation has a correct understanding of salvation, grace, and the relationship between faith and good works in the Christian life
