HUBUNGAN ANTARA CULTURAL INTELLIGENCE DAN SOCIOCULTURAL ADJUSTMENT MAHASISWA RANTAU

Abstrak

Education in Indonesia is still unequal, this causes students to migrate to gain knowledge. When coming to another area, individuals must adapt. Due to cultural differences, overseas students must adapt to the area they will visit to study. The aim of the research is to see the relationship between cultural intelligence and adjustment in a socio-cultural context. This research uses quantitative correlational methods. The sampling technique in this research used a non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling with UKSW overseas student participants. The results obtained from this research are that there is a significant positive relationship between cultural intelligence and sociocultural adjustment for overseas students at Satya Wacana Christian University, Salatiga with an rxy value of 0.693 with a significance of 0.000 (p<0.05). This means that the higher the cultural intelligence a student has, the easier it is for overseas students to adapt to the socio-cultural context, and vice versa. So, if students have good cultural intelligence, they will easily adapt to the socio-cultural.
