DAMPAK POLITIK UANG TERHADAP DEMOKRASI LOKAL

(STUDI KASUS PILKADES DI DESA LAUT DENDANG KECAMATAN PERCUT SEI TUAN)

Abstrak

Salah satu musuh utama dalam setiap penyelenggaraan pesta demokrasi, baik nasional maupun lokal di Indonesia adalah praktek politik uang. Istilah politik uang dimaksudkan sebagai praktek pembelian suara pemilih oleh peserta pemilu, maupun oleh tim sukses, baik yang resmi maupun tidak, biasanya sebelum pemungutan suara dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana praktik politik uang yang dilakukan oleh elit politik dengan tujuan membeli suara masyarakat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah metode kualitatif dengan jenis data primer dan sekunder. Adapun hasil yang di dapat ialah, politik uang di desa laut dendang masih terus berjalan.  Setiap pemilihan kepala desa selalu ada saja calon kepala desa yang melakukan politik uang, walaupun bukan berupa uang tunai biasanya para calon kepala desa memberikan berupa bantuan kepada para masyarakat agar mendapatkan simpati masyarakat saat pemilihan kepala desa.Dari beberapa narasumber ada narasumber yang tidak menerima hal hal tersebut karena dianggap sebagai kecurangan dalam pemilihan kepala desa,tetapi banyak juga yang menerimanya dengan alasan mereka membutuhkan sembako dan uang tersebut untuk melanjutkan kehidupan mereka. Politik uang menjadi ancaman serius bagi proses demokrasi yang seharusnya merupakan mekanisme yang memungkinkan rakyat untuk memilih pemimpin yang terbaik untuk mewakili kepentingan publik.

One of the main enemies in every democratic party, both national and local in Indonesia, is the practice of money politics. The term money politics is meant as the practice of buying voters' votes by election participants, as well as by success teams, whether official or not, usually before voting takes place. This research aims to analyze how money politics is practiced by political elites with the aim of buying people's votes. The research method used is a qualitative method with primary and secondary data types. The results obtained are that money politics in Laut Dendang Village is still ongoing.  Every time there is a village head election, there are always village head candidates who engage in money politics, even though it is not in the form of cash, usually the village head candidates provide assistance to the community in order to gain the community's sympathy during the village head election. From several sources, there were sources who did not accept things. This was because it was considered fraud in the village head election, but many also accepted it on the grounds that they needed the basic necessities and money to continue their lives. Money politics poses a serious threat to the democratic process which should be a mechanism that allows the people to elect the best leaders to represent the public interests.
