PERANAN AKSARA INCUNG DALAM DOKUMENTASI SEJARAH MASYARAKAT KERINCI

Abstrak

Aksara Incung tidak hanya sebagai simbol tulisan kuno, namun juga merupakan identitas budaya dan jati diri masyarakat Kerinci. Melalui dokumen sejarah yang ditulis dalam aksara Incung, kita dapat memahami struktur sosial politik, hukum adat, dan kehidupan spiritual masyarakat Kerinci pada masa lalu. Aksara incung ini dapat ditemukan pada dokumen-dokumen lama Masyarakat Kerinci. Aksara ini ditulis pada berbagai media antara lain kulit kayu, tanduk kerbau, dan bambu, serta aksara ini mempunyai ciri khas yang membedakannya dengan aksara lain di Sumatera. Tujuan dari artikel ini yaitu untuk menunjukkan bahwa aksara incung tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai alat komunikasi, tetapi juga sebagai identitas budaya Masyarakat Kerinci. Artikel ini juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui betapa pentingnya aksara incung dalam dokumentasi Sejarah Masyarakat Kerinci.

The Incung script is not only a symbol of ancient writing, but also a cultural identity and identity of the Kerinci people. Through historical documents written in Incung script, we can understand the socio-political structure, customary law and spiritual life of the Kerinci people in the past. This incung script can be found in old Kerinci Community documents. This script is written on various media, including tree bark, buffalo horn, and bamboo, and this script has characteristics that differentiate it from other scripts in Sumatra. The purpose of this article is to show that the incung script not only functions as a communication tool, but also as a cultural identity for the Kerinci Community. This article also aims to find out how important the incung script is in documenting the history of the Kerinci Community.
