This research aims to analyze the influence of the Human Development Index (HDI) on poverty levels in West Sumatra Province. HDI, which includes the dimensions of education, health and living standards, is considered an important indicator in assessing the quality of development of a region. The data used in this research is secondary, obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) over a certain time period. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression to determine the relationship between the independent variable (HDI) and the dependent variable (poverty level). The research results show that increasing HDI has a significant effect on reducing poverty levels in West Sumatra Province. Education and health dimensions have a more dominant contribution compared to living standards. These findings indicate that efforts to increase HDI through policies focused on access to education and health can be an effective strategy in reducing poverty levels.
