ANALISIS KETIDAKSESUSAIAN ANTARA KENAIKAN TINGKAT PENGANGGURAN DAN PENURUNAN TINGKAT KEMISKINAN DI KABUPATEN PASAMAN BARAT

Abstrak

This research aims to analyze the discrepancy between the increase in poverty levels and the decrease in poverty levels in West Pasaman Regency. This phenomenon attracts attention because theoretically, an increase in poverty levels is usually followed by an increase in poverty levels. The data used includes labor statistics, poverty levels and poverty indicators for the last five years. The analysis was carried out using a quantitative descriptive approach, supported by interviews with related parties to understand the social, economic and policy factors that contributed to this phenomenon. The research results show that the reduction in poverty levels in West Pasaman Regency is not entirely influenced by labor absorption, but is more dominantly influenced by social assistance programs, remittances for migrant workers, as well as an increase in the informal sector which is not officially recorded in employment statistics. On the other hand, the increase in the unemployment rate is influenced by changes in the local economic structure and reduced job opportunities in the formal sector. This research concludes that this discrepancy reflects the complexity of the relationship between poverty and poverty, which requires comprehensive policies to address structural inequality in West Pasaman Barat.
