This study aimed to examine the relationship between mental toughness and competition pressure among taekwondo athletes in Surabaya. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The participants consisted of 105 active taekwondo athletes from various dojangs in Surabaya who had participated in national-level competitions at least once within the last two years, selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments included a mental toughness scale based on Jones’ theory (2007) and a competition pressure scale based on Weinberg’s theory (2006), both of which met the validity and reliability requirements. Data analysis was conducted using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test with the assistance of SPSS version 24. The results indicated a significant negative correlation between mental toughness and competition. This finding suggests that higher levels of mental toughness are associated with lower levels of perceived competition pressure, and vice versa.
