EKSPRESI GENDER DALAM LINGKUNGAN KOMUNITAS RELIGIUS SEBAGAI WUJUD TANTANGAN ETIKA: TINJAUAN TEOLOGI MORAL ATAS PERUBAHAN SOSIAL

Abstrak

Perubahan sosial yang semakin dinamis telah memunculkan beragam bentuk ekspresi gender yang amat menantang pemahaman tradisional dalam konteks kehidupan sebuah komunits religius. Fenomena ini sering kali menimbulkan ketegangan antara norma-norma moral berbasis ajaran agama dan realitas kehidupan sosial yang terus berkesinambungan. Artikel ini bertujuan menganalisis ekspresi gender dalam lingkungan komunitas religius sebagai bentuk tantangan etika, dengan menggunakan perspektif teologi moral. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi pustaka dan analisis normatif terhadap literatur teologi, etika, serta kajian gender. Hasil kajian menunjukan bahwa respons komunitas religius terhadap ekspresi gender cenderung beragam, mulai dari penolakan hingga upaya penerimaan yang bersifat terbatas. Dalam kerangka teologi moral, terdapat ketegangan antara prinsip hukum normatif dan nilai-nilai fundamental seperti kasih, keadilan, dan martabat manusia itu sendiri. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan suatu pendekatan secara teologis yang kontekstual dan dialogis guna menjembatani perbedaan antara tradisi religius dan perubahan sosial. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa ekspresi gender bukan hanya sebatas persoalan sosial, tetapi juga merupakan suatu isu etika yang mendalam bagi komunitas religius. Dengan mengedepankan dialog, empati, dan refleksi teologis yang kritis, komunitas religius diharapkan mampu merespons perubahan ini secara lebih inklusif tanpa kehilangan identitas nilai-nilainya.

Increasingly dynamic social change has given rise to diverse forms of gender expression that severely challenge traditional understandings within the context of religious communities. This phenomenon often creates tension between moral norms based on religious teachings and the ongoing realities of social life. This article aims to analyze gender expression within religious communities as a form of ethical challenge, using a moral theology perspective. This research uses a qualitative approach through a literature review and normative analysis of theology, ethics, and gender studies literature. The results of the study indicate that religious communities' responses to gender expression tend to vary, ranging from rejection to limited acceptance. Within the framework of moral theology, there is a tension between normative legal principles and fundamental values such as love, justice, and human dignity itself. Therefore, a contextual and dialogical theological approach is needed to bridge the gap between religious traditions and social change. This article concludes that gender expression is not merely a social issue, but also a profound ethical issue for religious communities. By prioritizing dialogue, empathy, and critical theological reflection, religious communities are expected to be able to respond to these changes more inclusively without losing their identity of values.
