Pengambilan keputusan karir merupakan salah satu tugas perkembangan penting yang harus dihadapi siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA). Namun, masih banyak siswa yang mengalami kebingungan dalam menentukan pilihan karir karena kurangnya pemahaman mengenai potensi diri, minat, bakat, serta informasi terkait dunia kerja dan pendidikan lanjutan. Kondisi tersebut menunjukkan pentingnya layanan bimbingan dan konseling karir sebagai upaya membantu siswa merencanakan masa depan secara lebih terarah dan realistis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas layanan bimbingan dan konseling karir dalam membantu pengambilan keputusan karir siswa di SMA Kartika XIX-2 Bandung. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara terbuka terhadap guru bimbingan dan konseling serta beberapa siswa yang telah mengikuti layanan bimbingan karir. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan mengidentifikasi dan menginterpretasikan temuan yang berkaitan dengan pelaksanaan layanan bimbingan karir serta dampaknya terhadap keputusan karir siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa layanan bimbingan dan konseling karir berperan efektif dalam membantu siswa mengenali minat, bakat, dan potensi diri, menyusun perencanaan karir, serta menentukan alternatif pilihan masa depan melalui perencanaan plan A dan plan B. Layanan yang dilaksanakan juga telah menerapkan prinsip individualitas, kemandirian, keterbukaan, realistis, dan kolaboratif sehingga siswa merasa lebih percaya diri dalam mengambil keputusan karir. Meskipun demikian, sebagian siswa masih memerlukan pendampingan lebih lanjut untuk memahami keterampilan yang perlu dikembangkan sesuai dengan tujuan karir yang dipilih. Oleh karena itu, penguatan layanan bimbingan dan konseling karir secara berkelanjutan diperlukan agar siswa mampu mengambil keputusan karir yang lebih matang, terarah, dan bertanggung jawab.
Career decision-making is one of the important developmental tasks that must be faced by senior high school students. However, many students still experience difficulties in determining their career choices due to a lack of understanding of their self-potential, interests, talents, and information related to the world of work and further education. This condition highlights the importance of career guidance and counseling services as an effort to assist students in planning their future in a more directed and realistic manner. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of career guidance and counseling services in supporting career decision-making among students at SMA Kartika XIX-2 Bandung. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through open-ended interviews with guidance and counseling teachers and several students who had participated in career guidance services. Data analysis was conducted by identifying and interpreting findings related to the implementation of career guidance services and their impact on students’ career decisions. The results indicate that career guidance and counseling services effectively help students identify their interests, talents, and potentials, develop career plans, and determine future alternatives through Plan A and Plan B strategies. The services have also applied the principles of individuality, independence, openness, realism, and collaboration, enabling students to become more confident in making career decisions. Nevertheless, some students still require further assistance in understanding the skills they need to develop in accordance with their chosen career goals. Therefore, continuous improvement of career guidance and counseling services is necessary to help students make more mature, focused, and responsible career decisions.
