SEJARAH AL- MATURIDIYAH DAN POKOK-POKOK PIKIRANNYA

Abstrak

Penelitian ini menggali sejarah perkembangan mazhab teologi Al-Maturidiyah be serta pokok-pokok pemikirannya yang menjadi salah satu rujukan utama dalam pemikiran teologi Islam Sunni. Studi diawali dengan pembahasan latar belakang kehidupan dan zaman Imam Abu al-Maturidiy, pendiri mazhab ini, serta kondisi sosial politik yang mempengaruhi munculnya Al-Maturidiyah. Selanjutnya, tulisan ini menguraikan prinsip-prinsip pokok yang meliputi konsep tauhid, sifat-sifat Allah, nubuwwah, dan akhlak manusia berdasarkan perspektif Maturidiyah. Dengan metode kajian kepustakaan dan analisis kritis terhadap sumber primer dan sekunder, kajian ini berupaya menampilkan peran Al-Maturidiyah dalam memperkuat akidah Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah sekaligus perbedaannya dengan mazhab teologi lainnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Al-Maturidiyah menekankan keseimbangan antara akal dan wahyu sebagai dasar pembentukan keyakinan serta menempatkan nubuwwah sebagai wahyu tertinggi yang teruji secara rasional dan tekstual. Kesimpulan dari kajian ini menegaskan pentingnya pemahaman Al-Maturidiyah sebagai kerangka teologis yang adaptif dan relevan dalam konteks kontemporer.

This research explores the history of the development of the mazhab teologi Al-Maturidiyah along with its main ideas, which serve as one of the primary references in Sunni Islamic theological thought. The study begins by discussing the background of the life and era of Imam Abu Al-Maturid the founder of this mazhab, as well as the socio-political conditions influencing the emergence of that Al-Maturidiyah. Subsequently, this paper outlines the key principles that include the concepts of tauhid the attributes of Allah, Nubuwwah, and human morality from the Maturidiyah perspective. Using a library research method and critical analysis of primary and secondary sources, this study attempts to present the role of that Al-Maturidiyah in strengthening the creed of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah as well as its differences with other theological mazhabs. The research results show that Al-Maturidiyah emphasizes a balance between reason and revelation as the foundation of belief formation and places nubuwwah as the highest revelation, tested both rationally and textually. The conclusion affirms the importance of understanding Al-maturidiyah as a theological framework that is adaptive and relevant in contemporary contexts.
