Abstrak

Perpustakaan merupakan sarana penting dalam mendukung kegiatan belajar mengajar di sekolah. Namun, pengelolaan perpustakaan secara manual masih menjadi kendala, termasuk di SMP Swasta Al-Hasaniyah Tangerang Selatan. Sistem pencatatan buku, peminjaman, pengembalian, hingga denda dilakukan secara tradisional sehingga menimbulkan ketidakefisienan serta risiko kehilangan data. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan mengimplementasikan sistem informasi perpustakaan berbasis web menggunakan metode waterfall, bahasa pemrograman PHP, dan basis data MySQL. Hasil implementasi menunjukkan sistem mampu membantu pengelolaan data buku, transaksi peminjaman dan pengembalian, serta pencatatan denda secara efisien. Sistem menyediakan fitur pencarian buku, pengelolaan profil pengguna, dan pencetakan laporan transaksi. Pengujian dengan metode blackbox mengkonfirmasi seluruh fitur berjalan sesuai harapan. Sistem ini diharapkan meningkatkan efisiensi operasional dan mendukung literasi digital di lingkungan sekolah.

The library plays an essential role in supporting teaching and learning activities at school. However, manual library management is still a challenge in many schools, including SMP Swasta Al-Hasaniyah in South Tangerang. Traditional processes in book recording, borrowing, returning, and fine management result in inefficiency, delays, and data loss risks. This research aims to design and implement a web-based library information system to digitize library operations. The system was developed using the waterfall development model, including requirement analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. The application was built using PHP and MySQL. The implementation results show that the system facilitates admin, staff, and library members in managing book data, borrowing and returning transactions, and fine tracking more efficiently and systematically. Additionally, the system includes features such as book search, user profile management, and transaction report generation. Testing was carried out using the blackbox method and indicated that all features function as expected. This system is expected to improve operational efficiency and support digital literacy within the school environment.
