SIMBOL TENUN IKAT SEBAGAI IDENTITAS BUDAYA KOMUNITAS TIMOR DALAM PERSPEKTIF PASTORAL KONTEKSTUAL

Abstrak

Tenun ikat sebagai ekspresi budaya dan iman bagi komunitas Timor. Tenun ikat bukan hanya karya seni, tetapi sarana komunikasi budaya yang memuat identitas, nilai sosial, dan pandangan religius. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif-interpretatif penelitian menggali makna teologis dari simbol, warna dan motif tenun. Hasil penelitian menunjukan proses menenun memiliki dimensi spiritual yang mendalam, mencerminkan hubungan manusia dengan Allah, leluhur, dan Tuhan. Dalam konteks pastoral kontekstual, tenun ikat menjadi media pewartaan iman dan inkulturasi budaya pelestarian tenun ikat penting untuk menjaga identitas, spiritualitas, dan kesadaran ekologis komunitas Timor.

Ikat weaving serves as an expression of culture and faith for the Timorese people. Ikat weaving is not merely a work of art, but a means of cultural communication that embodies identity, social values, and religious perspectives. Using a qualitative, descriptive-interpretive approach, this research explores the theological meaning of the symbols, colors, and motifs of the weaving. The results indicate that the weaving process has a profound spiritual dimension, reflecting humanity's relationship with God, ancestors, and God. In a contextual pastoral context, ikat weaving serves as a medium for the proclamation of faith and cultural inculturation. Preserving ikat weaving is crucial for maintaining the identity, spirituality, and ecological awareness of the Timorese people.
