PEMETAAN LOKASI RUMAH IBADAH LINTAS AGAMA DI TENGAH MASYARAKAT MULTIKULTURAL KECAMATAN MEDAN POLONIA

Abstrak

This research aims to analyze the spatial distribution patterns of interfaith houses of worship and identify the formation of multicultural zones spatially in Medan Polonia District, Medan City. As an urban area with a heterogeneous population, Medan Polonia District has various houses of worship including mosques, churches (Protestant and Catholic), temples, and monasteries. This study employs a quantitative approach supported by Geographic Information Systems (GIS) using ArcGIS 10.8 software. Location data were obtained by tracing coordinates on Google Maps for 45 identified houses of worship in the area. The analytical methods used include Average Nearest Neighbor (ANN) to determine distribution patterns (clustered, random, or uniform) and Near Analysis to measure the average distance between interfaith houses of worship. The analysis results are expected to provide a scientific overview of the socio-religious spatial structure and the level of spatial proximity reflecting the harmony and coexistence of the multicultural community in Medan Polonia District. These findings are useful as a reference in planning inclusive and equitable religious facility spatial distribution.
