KEMAMPUAN MENULIS TEKS PUISI PADA SISWA KELAS VIII K SMP NEGERI 3 KUPANG TAHUN PELAJARAN 2025/2026

Abstrak

Skripsi berjudul “Kemampuan menulis teks puisi siswa kelas VIII K SMPN 3 Kupang”, oleh Cikita Tong, NIM 2288201012, dengan pembimbing I Richard Oematan, S.Pd., M.Pd, dan pembinbing II Ronni M. Ndun, S.Pd., M.Hum. Masalah yang akan dituntaskan dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana kemampuan menulis teks puisi pada siswa kelas VIII K SMPN 3 Kupang. Dengan tujuan yang akan dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan menulis teks puisi pada siswa kelas VIII K SMPN 3 Kupang. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif kuantitatif yaitu suatu mekanisme penelitian yang berupa angka dan proses penilaian disusun secara cermat dan sistematis mulai dari menghimpun data sehingga menafsirkan dan melaporkan hasil penelitian. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 32 siswa kelas VIII K SMP Negeri 3 Kupang yang terdiri atas 18 siswa laki-laki dan 14 siswa perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes menulis puisi dan dokumentasi. Aspek yang dinilai yaitu tema, diksi, imajinasi atau pencitraan, majas atau gaya bahasa, rima dan irama, keutuhan struktur puisi, serta keaslian dan kreativitas. Data dianalisis melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan rumus rata-rata dan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan menulis teks puisi siswa kelas VIII K SMP Negeri 3 Kupang secara klasikal berada pada kategori Mampu dengan nilai rata-rata 74,37 dan total skor 667. Secara individual, siswa yang berada pada kategori Sangat Mampu sebanyak 12 siswa (37,50%), kategori Mampu sebanyak 8 siswa (25,00%), kategori Cukup Mampu sebanyak 9 siswa (28,12%), dan kategori Kurang Mampu sebanyak 3 siswa (9,38%). Berdasarkan penilaian tiap aspek, kemampuan siswa pada aspek tema memperoleh nilai 82,03 (Sangat Mampu), aspek diksi 71,87 (Mampu), aspek imajinasi/pencitraan 71,09 (Mampu), aspek majas/gaya bahasa 68,75 (Cukup Mampu), aspek rima dan irama 63,28 (Cukup Mampu), aspek keutuhan struktur puisi 80,46 (Mampu), serta aspek keaslian dan kreativitas 83,59 (Mampu). Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan menulis teks puisi siswa kelas VIII K SMP Negeri 3 Kupang secara umum sudah baik, terutama pada aspek tema, struktur puisi, serta kreativitas. Namun, siswa masih perlu meningkatkan kemampuan pada aspek diksi, penggunaan majas, serta rima dan irama melalui latihan yang berkelanjutan agar kemampuan siswa dalam menulis puisi berkembang secara optimal.

Thesis entitled "The ability to write poetry texts of class VIII K students of SMPN 3 Kupang", by Cikita Tong, NIM 2288201012, with supervisor I Richard Oematan, S.Pd., M.Pd, and supervisor II Ronni M. Ndun, S.Pd., M.Hum. The problem to be resolved in this study is how the ability to write poetry texts in class VIII K students of SMPN 3 Kupang. With the aim to be achieved in this study is to describe the ability to write poetry texts in class VIII K students of SMPN 3 Kupang. The method used is descriptive qualitative quantitative, namely a research mechanism in the form of numbers and the assessment process is arranged carefully and systematically starting from collecting data to interpreting and reporting the results of the study. The research subjects were 32 class VIII K students of SMP Negeri 3 Kupang consisting of 18 male students and 14 female students. Data collection techniques were carried out through poetry writing tests and documentation.  The aspects assessed were theme, diction, imagination or imagery, figurative language or style, rhyme and rhythm, the integrity of the poetry structure, and originality and creativity. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data were analyzed using the average and percentage formulas. The results of the study showed that the ability to write poetry texts of class VIII K students of SMP Negeri 3 Kupang classically was in the Capable category with an average score of 74.37 and a total score of 667. Individually, students who were in the Very Capable category were 12 students (37.50%), the Capable category were 8 students (25.00%), the Quite Capable category were 9 students (28.12%), and the Less Capable category were 3 students (9.38%).  Based on the assessment of each aspect, students' ability in the theme aspect received a score of 82.03 (Very Capable), diction aspect 71.87 (Capable), imagination/imagery aspect 71.09 (Capable), figurative language aspect 68.75 (Fairly Capable), rhyme and rhythm aspect 63.28 (Fairly Capable), integrity of poetry structure aspect 80.46 (Capable), and originality and creativity aspect 83.59 (Capable). Thus, it can be concluded that the poetry writing skills of grade VIII K students at SMP Negeri 3 Kupang are generally good, especially in the aspects of theme, poetry structure, and creativity. However, students still need to improve their skills in diction, use of figurative language, and rhyme and rhythm through ongoing practice so that their poetry writing skills develop optimally
