PERAN KONDISI SOSIAL DAN EKONOMI DALAM PENERAPAN TEORI TRAIT AND FACTOR PADA KONSELING KARIR DI ERA GLOBAL : KAJIAN LITERATUR

Abstrak

Teori Trait and Factor merupakan salah satu fondasi utama dalam perkembangan konseling karir modern. Teori ini menekankan pentingnya kesesuaian antara karakteristik individu (traits) dan tuntutan pekerjaan (factors). Namun, dalam konteks globalisasi dan dinamika sosial ekonomi yang cepat berubah, penerapan teori ini menghadapi tantangan yang signifikan. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran kondisi sosial dan ekonomi dalam penerapan teori Trait and Factor dalam konseling karir di era global. Kajian literatur ini menunjukkan bahwa kondisi sosial dan ekonomi berpengaruh besar terhadap peluang karir, akses terhadap pendidikan, serta kesesuaian individu terhadap pasar kerja. Dengan demikian, konselor karir perlu memperluas pemahaman teori klasik dengan mempertimbangkan variabel kontekstual sosial-ekonomi agar pendekatan konseling menjadi lebih relevan dan adaptif.

The Trait and Factor theory is one of the fundamental frameworks in the development of modern career counseling. This theory emphasizes the importance of the match between individual characteristics (traits) and job requirements (factors). However, in the context of globalization and rapidly changing socio-economic dynamics, the application of this theory faces significant challenges. This article aims to examine the role of social and economic conditions in the application of Trait and Factor theory in career counseling within the global era. This literature review shows that social and economic factors greatly influence career opportunities, access to education, and the compatibility between individuals and the labor market. Therefore, career counselors need to expand the classical theoretical framework by considering socio-economic contextual variables to make counseling approaches more relevant, inclusive, and adaptive to contemporary global realities.
