Abstrak

This research is motivated by the rampant use of nonstandard words in student scientific papers, especially Critical Journal Review (CJR). It is feared that this can reduce the quality of students' scientific papers and hinder readers' understanding. This study aims to analyze the use of nonstandard words in Critical Journal Review (CJR) written by Chemistry Education students at Medan State University. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data analysis techniques. The data collection technique was carried out by reading the Critical Journal Review (CJR) as a whole, identifying words that were suspected of being non-standard, checking words that were suspected of being non-standard with the Big Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI), and analyzing the data. The research data were obtained directly from students of chemistry education study program class C batch 22 at Medan State University. The results of data collection and data analysis obtained as many as 16 errors in the use of standard words in the CJR of students majoring in Chemical Education in class PSPK 22 C at Medan State University.
