Each legal entity chosen by BMT will definitely have different legal consequences. The aim of this research is to find out about the membership of the BMT Al-Ishlah cooperative in the city of Jambi which has not yet developed its economy and how this problem can be resolved by the BMT Al-Ishlah cooperative in the city of Jambi. This research uses qualitative research with a sociological juridical approach, which uses secondary data as initial data and then continues with primary data, or research field data, using three types of research, namely observation, interviews and literature. By involving members and managers of the BMT cooperative as well as all related parties. The results of this research show that BMT Al-Ishlah is able to help the economic growth of members and the community by providing loans and financing, such as murabahah and mudharabah financing, as well as savings programs, such as principal savings, mandatory savings and voluntary savings. The focus of this research is only on the role of cooperatives in improving the economic development of members, therefore further research is needed regarding the role of BMT cooperatives in a wider range.
