PERANCANGAN SISTEM INFORMASI PENERIMAAN PESERTA DIDIK BARU (PPDB) BERBASIS WEBSITE DI SMPN 11 KERINCI

Abstrak

Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru merupakan kegiatan rutin yang dilakukan setiap tahun oleh sekolah untuk menjaring calon siswa baru. Di SMPN 11 Kerinci, proses PPDB sebelumnya masih dilakukan secara manual, yaitu calon siswa harus datang langsung ke sekolah untuk melihat informasi pendaftaran dan mengumpulkan berkas. Cara ini dianggap kurang efisien, terutama bagi calon siswa yang tinggal jauh dari sekolah. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sistem informasi penerimaan peserta didik baru berbasis website agar proses pendaftaran menjadi lebih mudah, cepat, dan dapat diakses secara online. Sistem ini dikembangkan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP dengan framework Laravel dan database MySQL, serta menggunakan metode Rapid Application Development (RAD) yang memungkinkan pengembangan sistem secara cepat dan bertahap sesuai kebutuhan pengguna. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem berhasil dibangun sesuai fungsinya dan mempermudah proses pendaftaran. Hasil pengujian sistem baik menggunakan metode Blackbox maupun User Acceptance Test (UAT) menunjukkan bahwa seluruh fitur berjalan dengan baik dan pengguna merasa puas. Sistem ini diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi dalam meningkatkan layanan PPDB di SMPN 11 Kerinci serta mendukung penerapan teknologi dalam dunia pendidikan.

New Student Admission is a routine activity carried out every year by schools to attract new prospective students. At SMPN 11 Kerinci, the previous PPDB process was still done manually, where prospective students had to come directly to the school to view registration information and collect files. This method is considered less efficient, especially for prospective students who live far from the school. Therefore, this research aims to design a website-based new student admission information system so that the registration process becomes easier, faster, and can be accessed online. This system was developed using the PHP programming language with the Laravel framework and MySQL database, and using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method which allows rapid and gradual system development according to user needs. The results of this study show that the system was successfully built according to its function and facilitates the registration process. The results of system testing using both the Blackbox and User Acceptance Test (UAT) methods show that all features run well and users are satisfied. This system is expected to be a solution in improving new student admission services at SMPN 11 Kerinci and supporting the application of technology in the world of education.
