The habit of smoking is an activity of sucking a roll of tobacco wrapped in ripah leaves or cigarette paper which is burned and then the smoke is put into the body and exhaled again. The cause of the high death rate from smoking is the substance contained in a cigarette. In general, there are 3 main dangerous chemicals contained in cigarettes, namely carbon nicotine, tar, carbon monoxide which will also affect the ability of the lungs to carry out their functions, one of which is a decrease in the FEV1 value. To determine whether there is a relationship between the amount of cigarette consumption and the value of forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1).The type of research that I use in this study is analytic with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique from the population of café visitors in the city of Sragen was carried out by means of purposive random sampling. Measuring the amount of smoking consumption used a questionnaire while for measuring the value of Forced Expiratory Volume in 1 Second (FEV1) using a Spirometry measuring instrument. The type of research that I use in this study is analytic with a cross sectional approach. Based on the Spearman's rho test, it showed that there was a relationship between the number of cigarettes consumed per day and the FEV1 value with a value of p = 0.000 where p <0.05, and there was also a relationship between duration of smoking and FEV1 value with a value of p = 0.016 where p < 0.05. The conclusion based on the data obtained is that there is a relationship between the amount of cigarette consumption and the FEV1 value.
