In order to improve safety and operational efficiency in office buildings, the interconnection between the fire alarm system and access control system based on the ESP32 microcontroller offers an effective solution. The fire alarm system functions to detect potential fires and provide warnings to occupants and authorities. On the other hand, the access control system regulates the access rights to enter and exit specific areas within the building, as well as maintaining the building's security from external threats.This interconnection system utilizes the microcontroller as a control center that links both systems. When a fire alarm is detected by the sensor, the ESP32 microcontroller processes the signal and activates the access control system to automatically open the evacuation doors or exit paths. This allows building occupants to evacuate quickly and safely without obstruction from the access control system, which usually limits exit doors.The research and development method follows the ADDIE model, which consists of 5 stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation.In the implementation, the system uses microcontroller components such as the ESP32, which is connected to fire sensors (such as smoke sensors and temperature sensors) and access control devices (such as RFID Readers and Magnetic Lock buttons). The ESP32 microcontroller can also be connected to wireless communication modules or networks for remote monitoring and control.Through this interconnection system, office buildings can improve response to emergencies, speed up the evacuation process, and reduce the risk of injury or property damage. Additionally, this system provides a higher level of comfort and security for both occupants and building management.
