PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROJECT BASED LEARNING BERBANTUAN MEDIA MINIATUR DALAM MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP SISWA PADA MAPEL IPAS KELAS V DI SD NEGERI 12 PEMECUTAN

Abstrak

Pendidikan merupakan salah satu aspek krusial dari kehidupan manusia. Kualitas pendidikan yang baik dapat memberikan pengaruh besar terhadap pola pikir dan cara berperilaku seseorang. Dalam pendidikan tentunya akan terjadi proses pembelajaran antara guru dengan siswa. Proses pembelajaran ini berkaitan dengan pertukaran informasi dari siswa dan guru dari yang tidak tahu menjadi tahu. Guru memiliki peran penting dalam pembelajaran ini, untuk memilih strategi yang paling tepat digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran, agar nantinya pembelajaran berjalan dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) berbantuan media miniatur terhadap peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa pada mapel IPAS kelas V di SD Negeri 12 Pemecutan. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya pemahaman konsep siswa akibat dominasi metode pembelajaran konvensional yang kurang melibatkan siswa secara aktif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu (quasi experiment). Sampel dalam penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang diberikan perlakuan dengan model PjBL berbantuan media miniatur dalam proses pembelajarannya dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes pemahaman konsep sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Hasil analisis data dengan uji independent t-test menunjukkan nilai sebesar 0,029 yang berarti nilai Sig < 0,05 sehingga hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (H1) diterima. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Project Based Learning berbantuan media miniatur berpengaruh positif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa pada mata pelajaran IPAS.

Education is one of the crucial aspects of human life. Good quality education can have a big influence on a person's mindset and behavior. In education, of course, there will be a learning process between teachers and students. This learning process is related to the exchange of information from the students and teachers from not knowing to knowing. The teachers have an important role in this learning, to choose the most appropriate strategy to be used in the learning process, so that later the learning process will run well. This study aims to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by miniature media on improving students' conceptual understanding in the fifth grade students on natural and social science subject at SD Negeri 12 Pemecutan. The background of this study is based on the low understanding of students' concepts due to the dominance of conventional learning methods that do not actively involve the students. The method used in this study is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. The sample in the study consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class that was given treatment with the PjBL model assisted by miniature media in its learning process and the control class that used conventional learning methods. Data collection was carried out through a concept understanding test before and after the treatment. The results of data analysis with the independent t-test showed a value of 0.029 which means the Sig value <0.05, so that the null hypothesis (HO) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (HI) was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Project Based Learning model assisted by miniature media has a positive effect on improving students' conceptual understanding in the subject of natural and social science.
