KEBERADAAN POJOK BACA DALAM MENUMBUHKAN KEMAMPUAN LITERASI PADA SISWA DI SDN 1 KUBU

Kemampuan membaca sangat penting di era digital untuk mengakses informasi. Pojok baca dihadirkan di sekolah sebagai sarana membiasakan siswa membaca, meningkatkan kognitif, dan membangun budaya literasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SDN 1 Kubu dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) eksistensi pojok baca, (2) hambatan yang dihadapi guru dalam optimalisasinya, dan (3) upaya guru dalam menumbuhkan budaya membaca siswa. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teori behavioristik, kognitif, dan motivasi. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pojok baca di SDN 1 Kubu dilaksanakan melalui tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hambatan yang dihadapi antara lain rendahnya minat baca siswa dan keterbatasan sarana. Guru mengatasi hal ini dengan memberikan motivasi pentingnya membaca dan melaksanakan kegiatan literasi 15 menit sebelum pembelajaran dimulai.
Reading skills are essential in the digital era for accessing information. Reading corners are introduced in schools as a means to habituate students to reading, enhance cognitive abilities, and foster a culture of literacy. This study was conducted at SDN 1 Kubu with the aims of exploring: (1) the existence of the reading corner, (2) the challenges faced by teachers in optimizing its use, and (3) the teachers' efforts to cultivate a reading culture among students. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, supported by behaviorist, cognitive, and motivational theories. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. The findings reveal that the reading corner at SDN 1 Kubu is implemented through planning, execution, and evaluation stages. Challenges encountered include students’ low interest in reading and limited facilities. Teachers addressed these issues by motivating students on the importance of reading and conducting a 15-minute literacy activity before classroom lessons begin.
